If you are working on your estate plan you will need someone to execute it when the time comes. We can step in right away as a Trustee or serve as a successor Trustee. That means that we go to work right away or wait until our services are needed. When the time comes, we will manage your financial and legal affairs and follow the terms of your trust exactly as you have instructed. We charge hourly fees, never a percentage of the trust estate. Of course, there are no fees charged until you actually need our services.
As an example, we have clients who for a variety of reasons don’t want to burden their family members with handling estate matters. Perhaps the family members are geographically far away, perhaps you have a blended family and don’t want to create issues between siblings or other family members, or perhaps there aren’t family members available. Using a neutral party, a licensed fiduciary, can help maintain family harmony for years to come. This is an important consideration for your legacy.
Special Needs Trust
If you have an existing Special Needs Trust or are creating one for the future, a professional fiduciary is strongly encouraged. These are trusts created for your beneficiaries who need to continue receiving public benefits. These trusts are complex to manage and require strict adherence to the law. This can be particularly difficult for siblings to manage. Family roles versus legal roles can become emotional and lead to relationship problems.
